The Hydra Double Base Candle Holder was made in the 1970s of wrought iron in a gothic style.
It was named after Hydra, the multi-headed serpent monster fought by Heracles in Greek Mythology.
Like a writhing snake, the two stems are intertwined in an organic motion before straightening out at a level height towards the top of the candle holder.
