From Makrana, Rajasthan, this antique original hand turned bowl dates back to the 19th century and would have been used in India as an everyday vessel.

Makrana marble was of popular demand due to its durability, resistance to water seepage and because it was considered easy to work with.

It was used in the creation of the Victoria Memorial in Kolkata and as the main stone material for the famed Taj Mahal.

This marble explores a complete variety of taupe colourings, from cool greys to warm and sandy tones, within all its present textures.

Adding to its charm, the bowl’s dented and uneven rim sits atop a wide, flattened conical shape, leading to a level base.
