Dating back to the late 19th or early 20th century, this Mediterranean terracotta vessel would have been used to store olive oil.

This particular vessel had been painted with a turquoise glaze on its neck and rim and lined in its interior, with a layer of resin to prevent the oil from seeping into the terracotta.
