1960s wooden bowl, from Manchester.
The wood is richly deep in colour and is hand carved from one single piece with continuous chipping along the interior and exterior edges that creates an organic rim and a delicately scalloped surface.
Its low rising silhouette and acutely angled sides meeting to a small and dainty base make the shape of this oblong bowl characteristic of mid-century modern style.
