Sourced from the village of Water, Lancashire, this ecclesiastical chair is handmade of pinewood and had been stained to achieve a darker finish.
A pointed oval shaped cut out runs along the bottom of the front panel creating two short, curved legs and is repeated along the back of the chair — one whole piece which also contains the same shape on the top— and is decorated with a cross carved through upper half of the backrest.
