This antique apothecary jar is one of three, from Burnley, Lancashire.

It is has a delicate crazing pattern throughout; not to be confused with cracks, this is a phenomenon that occurs in some ceramics where an intricate spider web-like design appears overtime in the glaze of a piece of pottery.

While the other two jars from this set still maintain their original chemist label, this one is bare of any stickers but is still believed to be from the same period: from or before 1905 (the other jars display the phone number 285, indicating that they were from the aforementioned year as 4 digit phone numbers were introduced in England at that time).
